Our programs offer students the chance to step away from the busyness of life and grow in an environment that inspires both rest and reflection. Surrounded by Spain’s incredible beauty at our ministry hub that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, you’ll learn from experienced mentors, engage in powerful conversations, and discover new ways to lead with courage and compassion.

What Is Legacy Rising?
About the Program
Legacy Rising is an international summer leadership program designed for Christian young adults who want to grow in their faith while serving others.
Students join our team for training at our beautiful property in Spain, where they live in community and receive training in a variety of subjects including leadership, team dynamics, and trauma-informed care.
After training, students are sent out globally with Legacy Refuge team members to one of our international partners. Each team partners with long-term local initiatives focused on children, families, and community development.
Once there, teams will run VBS-like programs for younger children and our Filtered Hope barista and life skills training program for older and aged-out youth.
This is not just a trip. It’s a structured leadership experience built around service, spiritual growth, and cross-cultural learning.
Who It’s For
Legacy Rising is designed for:
- Christian young adults (typically ages 18–25)
- Those seeking deeper spiritual growth
- Students considering missions, ministry, or nonprofit work
- Gap-year or college-age participants
- Anyone willing to serve, learn, and live in community
No prior missions experience is required.
Where You’ll Serve
Each summer, teams serve in several international locations. These may include:
- Austria
- Moldova
- Ethiopia
- South Africa
- Other global partner sites
Each location offers a unique cultural experience and ministry focus.

Objectives
Leadership Development
Students will grow through focused leadership training, team-building, and powerful times of worship and prayer.

We equip all students with the knowledge and tools they need to effectively and healthily impact vulnerable children.

Students apply what they’ve learned through hands-on ministry experience at the end of the program in orphan-centered Legacy Refuge programs.
