At Legacy Refuge, we believe every child deserves to be known, loved, and empowered to thrive.
Sadly, this often isn’t the case. In places around the world, countless orphans and vulnerable children are growing up without the stability and hope every child needs, all while carrying deep wounds from trauma, loss, and institutional living.
That’s why Justin and Alaya Hayslett founded Legacy Refuge — to bring steady care and support to children who need it most.
What began with a simple calling to care for the vulnerable and point them toward hope in Christ has grown into a global mission serving orphans and young adults aging out of care.
WHAT WE DO
We believe lasting impact grows from consistent care and meaningful relationships, along with opportunities for young people to build a future they can truly call their own. Through every program, our goal is to help children and young adults experience hope, stability, and purpose.
Camps for Orphaned & Vulnerable Children
Our camps create safe, joy-filled environments where children can simply be kids while experiencing the love of Christ and authentic connection with caring mentors. Through fun activities and trauma-informed care, children are reminded that they are seen, known, and deeply valued.
Life Skills & Barista Training
For young adults aging out of care, the transition into adulthood can feel uncertain and overwhelming. Our life skills and barista training programs equip participants with job training and mentorship, helping them move toward independence with confidence.
Legacy Rising
We invest in the next generation of leaders in orphan care through a 2–6 week leadership program focused on character development and hands-on experience. We believe young people are capable of lasting impact when they are trusted, equipped, and given space to lead.
Long-Term Support & Mentorship
Legacy Refuge is committed to walking alongside young peopleover the long haul. We build relationships that support children and young adults as they heal, grow, and discover their God-given potential.
